2000-2008
Then known as Stone Three Signal Processing, the foundations of S3C’s software defined radio legacy were laid by founder and renowned technologist Dr. David Weber. Specialising in digital signal processing, he and his team always pushed the art of the possible, with Dave considering any technical barrier to an elegant solution as an affront. From software RADAR (Radio Detection and Ranging) signalling processing to machine vision systems for the mining sector, they revolutionised products for their customers.
2009-2014
Solid partnerships and an entrepreneurial mindset have always been core to our organisation. Rebranded as Stone Three Venture Technology, rapid growth followed with a more vertical industry focus through dedicated business units for mining, healthcare, and communications. It was in this environment that the S3C technical team honed their craft in SDR with ever-demanding challenges from customers in defense and signal intelligence.
2015-2018
The onset of low-power, high-performance digital processing platforms fuelled by the smartphone sector since 2010, allowed the S3C team to transcend what was considered state of the art in SDR. By merging our proprietary SDR framework with a wide range of in-house developed hardware platforms, highly complex products were developed with exceptionally low energy footprints. This enabled a move towards the space and maritime sectors; both challenging environments requiring advanced communications systems in a low-power, compact package.
2019-2021
With a solid reputation and strong established partnerships, it was time for S3C to spin out of the group to dedicate our focus to the space and maritime sectors. In keeping with its legacy, S3C continues on its mission to develop advanced, elegant and economical communications solutions in co-discovery with its partners.
